We hope and pray that the coming end of the great evil will be swift and that it will not inflict even greater suffering on the innocent and vulnerable. And we all remember Eddie Jun, who is still there in prison as was Robert. Locked up on charges of telling someone about Jesus. If this is true he is a martyr.

We cannot forget and we should not forget. We cannot pretend we don’t know what is going on in North Korea, and we cannot turn away with a clear conscience, so let’s continue to do all we can to accelerate the movement toward freedom for all North Koreans.

We are in a quandry. Perhaps you can share what you think we should do.

On the one hand we want all people to know the terrible suffering inflicted on Robert by North Korea, the torture that means he is in and out of mental hospital on a regular basis and has suicidal thoughts.

On the other hand Robert has sent us a message saying that it upsets him to read about himself so would we remove most of the posts in this blog.

So what do we do?

Do we continue to promote freedom of the press and share information for all people who are concerned about Robert and the genocide in North Korea. Especially when Robert himself keeps speaking out.

Or do we shut down this blog and keep silence, because Robert has asked for it. Is this censorship? Or is it responsible?

Something happened today (Saturday 2 April 2011) that caused Robert to fall. His friends are taking care of it, but request that you fast and pray for the next three days for him and for North Korea. For those who have a hard time fasting all three days, please fast at least one or two meals. During the time, please pray for Robert and the North Koreans.

Robert does not want to meet people, because he does not want people to see this side of him. He feels totally devastated and totally alone and hopeless because of what they did to him in North Korea. Please honour his only request and save the North Koreans.

Robert is filled with rage at the church, because he doesn’t see the church doing what the Bible says: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ He believes it is very clear that we must love the North Korean people the same as our own children, our own parents, brothers, sisters and families. He is filled with rage at the church for only being concerned about its image and its “pathetic” weekly services, and for wasting of time and resources while millions die in North Korea. Don’t you think he is right and we all have to truly repent, because God want us to take up the cross, make sacrifices and take risks to save those who are oppressed, enslaved and tortured in North Korea.

His friends beg you to please pray and fast for at least the next three days. Please pray that the powers in North Korea will not be able to get away with what they have done to God’s people and that, right now, a breakthrough will come and justice will roll down like waters over North Korea and China, and that the hurting millions of innocents will be rescued – right now.

Robert cannot be reached by email or telephone. The only way to reach him is through prayer. Please pray and fast for Robert and the North Korean people, his friends sincerely beg you, please!

For those who speak Korean, please translate this pray request and send it out to all your networks. When people pray, Robert truly feels comforted; but as soon as the prayers stop, he becomes tormented, terrified and paralysed by horror. Please raise more prayers and fasting for Robert and the North Korean people. Please pray immediately!!

This is not the Robert before North Korea. The evil powers in North Korea tried to destroy him forever. Please pray that North Korea’s leaders will learn that God’s love is more powerful than their wicked and inhuman practices.

For security reasons we cannot give specific information where he is, nor where he is going to be. All he wants to do is give his life for the salvation of the North Koreans, but right now he is so tormented and fragmented we are not sure what is going to happen.

Because of what happened in North Korea, Robert feels permanently damaged, filthy and broken. He believes that only a miracle can save him from this. When he is at his lowest, he feels sure that God hates him. North Korea’s leaders did this to him. This is the most painful, horrifying and despairing feeling for Robert, because he truly gave his life to Christ before the powers of North Korea tried to destroy him. Please pray that they will not win.

Please pray that Robert will find hope and meaning and know that God loves him, and that he will be delivered from despair.

He is terrified of being tortured, raped, cornered, and sexually abused. He is in a nightmare situation right now.

He tries to do God’s will, but then he becomes so tormented and he cannot function. He feels all alone and in despair. He wants to know what God would have him do, whether he should be able to speak out again or whether he must completely stop. It may be over for him now, he feels. He feels shattered and torn and broken into pieces and helpless.

North Korea destroyed his life. He begs everyone to take action, he begs everyone to do everything they can to save the North Korean people. He says he loves you all and says good bye.

It is so important to remember that the genocide is still present in North Korea and we need to make the world aware of what is going on. I know that most of you are helping so much, and I thank you for that.

Robert wants you all to know it was decided he return to hospital due to his post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and for his protection.

Some of the media have tried to discredit him, and there have been threats that have affected him. He is not the same person that went into North Korea on December 25, 2009. Be confident that the Lord will restore Robert to the pure, compassionate, and wonderful person he was before he followed the Lord’s will and made the world aware of what is happening in North Korea.

We ask that you continue to fervently pray that the Lord stop him from all violent and irrational acts. That the Lord restore him with love and compassion. Also pray that Robert does not become suicidal and can forgive and move on. He is a very strong person and will return to that state.

For these reasons, there will be no more speeches or interviews or church meetings.

It is a time for Robert to rest and heal and fully recover. He needs to be able to take time to listen to what God is telling him.

He says that if you really want to help the tortured people in North Korea, continue to pray for them. If you at all can, get together in small groups weekly just to pray for the oppressed North Korean people. Most of you do this anyway, but Robert wants to remind everyone.

Another way is to help raise funds for the refugees. This will bring drastic changes to the victims.

Robert believes mass demonstrations are a way to let the world know what is really going on. Governments are not doing enough to stop this ‘genocide’ and ‘holocaust’, so we the people must speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. It is required of us.

Thank you everyone for all your efforts in helping with this mission. The fight is not over, and if the Lord so leads you, please take up the cause. Let us all join in unity and support the cause and in turn that will be helping Robert too.

“When they sent me out of their country, they expected that I was about to commit suicide because they said, ‘It broke Robert. Let the world see that we have a victory.’” Robert said, “Honestly, I still fear them, but I cannot kill myself when I think of North Korea and its refugees who are in bigger suffering than me.”

Robert Park, a 29-year-old Korean- American, told Monthly Chosun in the latest interview about what happened in detention as well as about what he thinks of the human rights crisis in North Korea. He crossed the Tumen River which is a border with China. After 43 days in detention, he was released, and revealed in an interview he had been sexually abused.

He does not have any health problems and is eating well, but whenever he recalls his torture experiences in North Korea, he once again feels the impulse to kill himself.

He has talked about human rights abuse in NK for three hours as well. In the wake of a question reflecting on his own experience, however, he just started to pray with a shaky voice for about 10 minutes. “Please kill Kim Jong Il.” Right after the prayer, he asked for God’s forgiveness. He confessed that he is like garbage and asked God to let him die. Generally, Christians do not pray for his or her own death nor the death of others.

“There is a video tape of my sexual torturing,” he said. “I don’t care if it is released all over the world. People might think of me as trash or a dirty man and even my relationships could be ruined. But I can overcome it.”

He wants to report the actual crisis of human rights in North Korea rather than just gossip about details such as how he underwent sexual abuse.

“Up to now, three million or more North Koreans have been killed. North Korea has been sent huge financial aid but the money has not gone to the people who need it. Kim Jong Il misappropriated the funds for developing weapons. What is happening in North Korea is the biggest genocide since the Holocaust.”

He also said that, “According to the Constitution of the Republic of Korea and international law, the North Korean regime cannot be defined as a legitimate government, but closer to the worst crime syndicate of human rights in the world. Not only Koreans but all citizens of the world have a huge responsibility for the fate of 20 million innocent North Koreans being held hostage by the regime.
.”

“Resuming a dialogue with the regime of Kim Jong Il is selling a soul to the devil,” he said. “So we need to see it in a totally different way.” He pointed out the biggest obstacle of a vision of unification is ‘nuclear threats.’ The world is concerned that pressure on Pyongyang could bring provocative actions that potentially lead to nuclear war. In other words, for the people who prefer to see Korea stabilized, the suffering in North Korea is not their business.

“The time will come when the two Koreas unify, and North Korea reads the Constitution of the Republic of Korea. What will you be able to respond? Why haven’t you spoken out against the regime and fought against it? Unless we do something for the sake of the people in North Korea, it should be left for history to judge. What I really hope is every single person in South Korea should feel responsible for their hardship and must end this holocaust of lives together.”

Park also explains in the interview after his release that when he heard news about Aijalon Mahli Gomes, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson suggested, “If you speak nicely about North Korea, I might be able to save your friend.” He responded, “Yes,” because Gomes was in a very difficult situation. He was detained for 7 month after his January 2010 crossing of the Tumen River.

However, Park says, “Saving a friend could have hurt compatriots in North Korea more. In the end, I came to the conclusion that I couldn’t go along with killing them, so I rejected his suggestion.”

Park said that, “The Kim Jong Il regime, China, Bill Richardson: they are all figures obstructing the liberation of the North Korean people. They are wicked and bad.”
